Fresh content can help improve search engine rankings within hours.

Commenting on Search Engine Watch, Eric Enge, notes that a lot of websites can take a long time to improve their rankings with search engine optimisation (SEO).

However, he notes that websites that "spew out completely topical content on a regular basis" are on "a completely different schedule".

Mr Enge writes: "Freshness is its own animal.

"Certain sites that establish sufficient authority, and that publish a constantly changing stream of content, can have changes indexed within hours."

President of Brick Marketing, Nick Stamoulis, recently claimed that providing fresh content, such as through a blog, is invaluable to a company.

In particular, he suggests that a well-written blog will help boost both website conversions and traffic.

Is new content the only way to sew the seeds for good search engine rankings?
