Companies who want their website to be optimized in search engine results should make sure the whole company is onboard.
It shouldn't just be the search engine marketing team that knows about SEO, everyone should know when to bring up the subject in discussions.
That's the view of Jessica Bowman, blogging on search engine land, who thinks that despite this goal being neither fast nor easy, it is realistic and has a huge return on investment.
She lists five bits of advice that can help make this goal a bit more attainable, including training everybody on SEO and creating an SEO knowledge centre.
"Implementing these five items alone will make a huge impact on [the] level of SEO engagement you get from the rest of your company," she claims.
But many in business struggle to check their emails, never mind understand something like search engine optimisation and suddenly explaining why they have to change their work habits could foster a bad relationship.
So should SEO be a company-wide endeavour or should it just be left to the experts?
