Yahoo provide a new internet marketing strategy

Yahoo has launched a new product which it believes will change the future of marketing strategies on the internet, as every new product claims to.

The company decided to get in Jon Hamm, the star of TV's Mad Men, in a "this is the past, this is the future" kind of deal, seemingly forgetting that his character Don Draper is sexist and morally bankrupt - perhaps not the best association, but never mind.

According to Yahoo, its new APT product is "an intelligent innovation in online media, a digital advertising solution that streamlines the process of planning, buying and optimising display advertising".

Basically, it is meant to simplify the online marketing process.

However, according to Yahoo president Sue Decker: "One of the major benefits of APT from Yahoo is the fact that it's an open system, designed to enable advertisers to reach their audiences in their favourite places across the web, and publishers to monetise inventory across the broadest possible demand channels."

What Don Draper would have made of a woman being president of a company as large as Yahoo will never be known, but will Yahoo's APT be a success?
