Target key to B2B search engine marketing

Vertical search portals allow search engine marketing to be directed more "precisely" than through mainstream engines, one industry expert has claimed.

Conceding that these business to business portals attract fewer visitors, managing director of Francis SEO Galen De Young explained that vertical search sites can be used to target more "focused demographics" through B2B web design and internet marketing.

Commenting on the Search Engine Land blog, he added that a seo agency can "generate highly qualified leads and click-through due to the focused demographics of many B2B vertical search sites".

He added that web design tweaks can also be better tailored to focus on the demographic with content such as seo news, through to more standard internet marketing banner advertisements and sponsorship.

This more targeted search engine optimisation (SEO) could also offer a more results driven alternative to pay-per-click (PPC) search engine marketing.

Manika Batta recently commented in PromotionWorld that PPC, for which companies pay each time their link is clicked on, offers no guarantee of an eventual sale.

By comparison SEO offers a better "solution for the long-term".
