Businesses can save on PR if journalists are doing the work for them, so providing easy access to the things they want from a website should be high in any strategy for internet marketing.
To help businesses with this process, e-consultancy has dipped into the minds of the hacks and come up with the three things they always search for, which should therefore always be easy to find.
"The key thing for a writer is to find what they're looking for as quickly as possible," the company said.
"If they cannot find the answers online then they'll need to quickly find some media contacts to call, or email."
The three links are as follows: About, which should be a "one-stop shop for links to company information" along with contact details; Press, which should contain press releases, media contact and mentions of the company in the media and finally Blog, which allows journalists to get "the inside track straight from the horse's mouth".
But how else can companies make sure their websites are easily accessible for journalists?
